Didactic and research unit Department of Ecological Engineering and Forest Hydrology (DoEEaFH) was established at the Faculty of Forestry of the University of Agriculture in Krakow on April 29, 2022 (ZR No. 33/2022).

The idea behind the establishment of the unit is the prospect of expanding the research and didactic profile in accordance with the current and future needs of forestry sciences and modern education in the field of forestry. The Department is a continuation of the didactic and scientific activity of the former Department of Forest Engineering (formerly the Department of Forest Engineering) and partly the Department of Forest Ecology and Silviculture (formerly the Department of Forest Ecology), and at the same time refers to world trends in which research in the field of ecological engineering and hydrology are clearly distinguished which in the case of forest science is defined as forest hydrology.
